THE WORK CONTINUES
As we back-roll, giant stride, or simply wade into the new season, what better way to kick start a fresh season than with some good ol' spring cleaning!
We at NEART together with our friends will be dedicating a whole month towards cleaning up our surrounding seas, and helping to keep our oceans free of plastics, ghost nets and other pollutants that are so harmful to precious marine life.
Ghost nets are fishing nets that has been left in the ocean. They pose a grave danger to marine animals such as turtles -- many of which are critically endangered -- as they entangle them and keep them from rising to the surface to breathe, causing them to drown. Ghost nets also harm coral reefs by breaking corals, exposing them to disease or blocking much needed sunlight.
As we continue to press on in our fight to help protect our beautiful marine life and their habitats, we welcome all the help we can get. Click here to see how you can get involved and lend a hand.
We believe that humans and turtles can live in harmony, by maintaining and protecting turtles' natural habitats.
