What's your 6th week impression of Bubbles Dive Resort?
It's impressive to see how far Bubbles came through. With the well organized operation and facilities, all done by a small, intimate team. I see strengths in everyone working here, knowing there's so much potential in each person. I learned to be more humble and never look down on people.
Bubbles' effort to conserve nature is truly amazing. It's my first time seeing environmental conservation work being put to practice in an impactful scale. As a child who've been educated to reduce plastic waste etc since young, I felt so "homed" to be in the environment who actually practice and does the same and more for the environment. Bubbles is magical.
What did you gain throughout the program?
- Experienced working with people from different background, personality, working style. Being able to see strengths of other people and myself. Learning to share responsibilities and trust others for completing tasks.
- Made a lot of friends who are kind and lovely to be with.
- Skills and knowledge gained when rotating to different departments and helping with conservation team some of the things (e.g. housekeeping, latte art, managing hatchlings & nesting turtles)
- Problem solving skills! To be able to think of solution quickly, coming up with alternative/backup plans, dealing and comforting anxious customers, interacting and co-working with other departments
- Soft skills and personality growth that broaden my world.
- Built a bit of muscle! (I can now carry 2 barrel of diesel instead of 1!)
What did you regret about the program?
Wished I could start my Open Water Dive Course earlier so that I can dive more. Nevertheless, I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue and complete my Advance Open Water Dive Course (yay!). Didn't dare try free diving on my own.
What are your final thoughts and review of the program?
Appreciate the chance given to solve problem with colleagues, to make decision with the team without much interruption from superior.
The supporting environment where everyone come together to get things done and give a better experience for the guests, the feeling that we are a team.
Chances to rotate to different department is amazing, to understand the true nature of the job and also to interact with different people.
Additional projects allowed me to practice/learn new skill and put them into actual use.
Thank you for the opportunity for bringing such a wonderful team together! Memories in Bubbles will last forever.
